You Can Train a Dog But Can You Train a Cat?

Now there’s been an age old argument about which is smarter cats or dogs. Proponents of cat intelligence being superior use anything and everything at hand to prove their point. According to them a cat is elusive and independent because they’re so intelligent. Clever enough that they just use you and when they do play with you and show you affection it’s always with an ulterior motive. You simply require to remember Morris the cat or be a Garfield fan to see this.

Dogs, on the other hand can be trained to rollover, play dead, sit, fetch, stay, play Frisbee, play with the ball, and do all kinds of other astonishing things. Just look at Lassie, Rin Tin Tin or the Doberman Gang. Another strong debate for the dog is the pet shows and home video shows on TV. There are bunches of other amazing dogs that do tricks in the movies and on TV.

Exercising your Pets : Pet’s Treadmills

“Pet Treadmills” are becoming the new wave for our darling pets to get exercise with our busy schedules and to put those show dogs at the top of there game.

Before any new exercise program is put in place for your pet you should always consult your veterinarian first to get the right exercise program for your pet.

Some of the benefits of having a “Pet Treadmill” is your dog will be able to get his exercise during the day irrespective of the weather outside, time of day, or if your schedule that day just doesn’t allow you to run or walk your dog.

What age should you start your dog on treadmill? Dogs can be started on a “Pet Treadmill” when they’re puppies and used through out their life. If your dog has never used a treadmill before there are steps that you can take to get your dog comfortable with the machine.

  • Walk your dog around the machine, on the machine while it’s off. Let them do this 3-4 times to get familiar with the machine
  • Place your dog on the machine, you’re to be in the front of the dog at eye level. Place your hand on the dog and with the other hand turn the machine on. Make sure that the machine is on the slowest setting. Your dog will begin walking with the machine unknowingly.
